The New York Yankees were able to get the win on Thursday afternoon to salvage a split in the series with the Kansas City Royals after losing the first two games. The win is number 50 for the Yankees, but they are still in fourth place in the AL East, six games behind the Boston Red Sox.

The Royals got off to a quick start against Andy Pettitte, but with a lot of run support Pettitte was able to pick up his seventh win of the season. In the first inning the Royals scored three runs, as with the bases loaded All-Star Catcher Salvador Perez hit a two-run double to score Alex Gordon and Eric Hosmer. Lorenzo Cain would then hit a sac-fly to score Billy Butler to cap off the three-run first inning. In the second inning the Royals would get another run on an Alcides Escobar base-hit, which scored David Lough. Pettitte would settle down after that not allowing anymore runs to score, as he finished going 5.2 innings allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk.

Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees Post Game Recap

The New York Yankees had their six game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, as they were unable to sweep the Orioles at home. The loss moves the Yankees to (48-40) on the season, which is fourth in the AL East.

Orioles Starter Jason Hammel gave up the first run of the game in the second inning, as Eduardo Nunez knocked in his third run in his last two games since coming off the DL, with his sac-fly that scored Zoilo Almonte. Hammel would end up going just five innings, allowing the one run on six hits and two walks.

The Yankees got a great start from Hiroki Kuroda, but sadly for Kuroda he only got a no decision for his efforts. Kuroda would go seven shutout innings allowing just three hits and a walk on 88 pitches, leaving the game in the hands of David Robertson and Mariano Rivera.

New York Yankees vs Minnesota Twins Post Game Recap

Final Score: Yankees 10 Twins 4

The New York Yankees were able to snap their five-game losing streak on Monday night in Minnesota with a 10-4 win over the Twins. The win moves the Yankees to (43-39) on the season, but are six games back of the Boston Red Sox for first place.

Robinson Cano got the Yankees on the board first in this game with a solo-home run off Scott Diamond for his 18^th home run of the season. Cano would strike again off Diamond in the third inning with his second home run of the game, this time being a two-run shot scoring Jayson Nix. The two home runs from Cano were the only mistakes by Diamond, who went 6.2 innings allowing just two earned runs on seven hits and one walk, but Diamond got a no decision for his good efforts.

Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees Post Game Recap

Final Score: Rays 5 Yankees 7

The New York Yankees were able to win their second straight game against the Tampa Bay Rays, this time in come from behind fashion to ensure at worst a split in the four-game series. The win moves the Yankees to (41-33), which is three games behind the Red Sox for first place.

C.C. Sabathia's woes against the Rays continued on Saturday afternoon, but with a lot of run support, Sabathia was able to notch his eighth victory of the season. Evan Longoria got the Rays on the board in the second inning off of Sabathia, which was Longoria's 17^th of the season, and third of the series. The big hit off Sabathia came in the sixth inning, as rookie Wil Meyers hit a Grand Slam off of Sabathia, which made it a 5-3 game, and was Meyers' first home run since being called up. Sabathia finished going seven innings allowing five runs on six hits, and two walks.
